Insieme per “The long and winding road” dei Beatles

- Senza essere stato annunciato, Elton John è salito sul palco per il
bis del concerto di Prince all’Arena 02 di Londra e, mentre Prince suonava la chitarra, ha cantato “The Long
and Winding Road” dei Beatles, senza però suonare il piano. Alla fine le due superstar si sono
abbracciate e Prince ha detto al pubblico: “Sapete chi è: Sir Elton
John!"
Ispirato dalla collaborazione, Prince ha suonato ben sette
canzoni nel bis, tra cui “When Doves Cry” e “Sign O' The Times”. Poi,
15 minuti dopo che le luci erano già state accese, è tornato ancora sul
palco. La sua lunga giornata lavorativa si è conclusa nel locale più
piccolo dell’arena, dove Prince ha tenuto una performance “aftershow”
di ben due ore in cui ha suonato un altro brano dei Beatles, “Come
Together” e “Whole Lotta Love” dei Led Zeppelin.
Elton John era
stato salutato dal pubblico quando le telecamere lo avevano inquadrato
tra il pubblico della 02. In precedenza aveva presentato proprio alla
02 il suo show “Red Piano” in una delle poche sere lasciate libere da
Prince.
